The Alliance for Oklahoma's Future is a broad-based, nonpartisan alliance of organizations and individuals that work together to educate its members, policymakers, and the broader public about tax and budget issues, and the need for policies that ensure adequate investment in public services in Oklahoma.

The Alliance grew out of a concern that there was no organized effort to either understand the State of Oklahoma’s revenue, budget and needs, or plan ahead for them.  A number of Oklahomans recognized the urgent need for sustained, coordinated, and effective work to raise awareness of the state's budget challenges and to build support for sound policy proposals.  The Alliance for Oklahoma's Future is intended to fill this need and serve as the focal point for efforts to change the public debate and improve public policy.

The Principles:  The Alliance is committed to tax and budget policies that will promote the state's economic development and provide for the well-being of our citizens and communities.  We believe that sound tax and budget policies should adhere to the following basic principles:

-   Fiscal Responsibility

-   Tax Equity

-   Transparency and Accountability
 

The mission is to ensure adequate provision of public services in Oklahoma by educating and activating our members, policymakers, and the broader public on tax and budget issues.

The goals are to:
 

-   Create a broad-based, long-term, and sustainable alliance of organizations and individuals

-   Promote awareness and support for the core principles of sound budget and tax policy

-   Produce a powerful, non-partisan voice in Oklahoma that is able to make the case for an adequate and equitable tax system

-   Develop and disseminate information and analysis about the state's overall budget and tax system, as well as specific policy proposals

-   Share information, resources, and ideas among member groups and individuals working across a wide range of issue areas and causes

-   Help member groups and individuals become engaged on tax and budget policy issues
