Caring for the Caregiver

Whether defined by their job type or family obligations … caregivers can spread themselves thin

“Last to Know” ... If caregivers don’t learn to take care of themselves, there are negative consequences.

“Say No” ... Hughes says caregivers need to learn how to dial it back.

Failure to Thrive

Failure to thrive ... a delay in physical growth and weight gain that can lead to developmental and maturational delays  or permanent damage

"Nutrition" ... Proper nutrition is a must for proper development, but sometimes, the lack of nutrition can be hard to detect.

"Incidence and assessment" ... Failure to thrive affects roughly 25 percent of the children in the Tulsa County area. Case management and health care workers have to be very careful when assessing a child’s development.

"Factors" ... Several factors can lead to a baby’s failure to thrive
