Census Information Center
of Eastern Oklahoma
Established in October 2006 as a program of
the Community Service Council and the U.S. Census Bureau
The Census Information Center (CIC) Program is a cooperative program between the U.S.
Census Bureau and 47 national, regional, and local non-profit organizations.
Started in 1988, CIC represents the interests of underserved communities. The centers
serve as repositories of census data and reports, making census information and
data available to the public and the communities they serve. The CICs use
census data in areas such as program planning, advocacy, needs assessment,
defining service areas, public policy development, developing new business
enterprises, and conducting race/ethnic-related research. (Census
Information Centers website, 12/06 ...

Using Census Information
CIC provides consultation and training so
that people can utilize U.S. census data more effectively.
